In 2008 I was told I had kidney cancer and that the kidney would have to be removed. Time flew by as I recovered and tried to get back on my feet. Three years ago I started slowly back retailing the old line of birds I designed years ago. In the old days I wholesaled all over the world, did shows as far away as Japan, and enjoyed a strong following and dependable market share. Now ten years later and a major economic correction the simple task of bringing my work to market has become completely foreign to me.
Today everything is online. Social media, digital presence and a knowledge of its workings is a prerequisite for success. This constitutes a large learning curve for me, but I will do what I love and try to bring it to market. One of the luxuries of creating what I love; is selling directly to the person that wants it.
I built a shop at my home to start producing. I'll be working on making the shop in Bear Island operational for summer twenty twenty, and starting: a website, a blog, and a youtube channel. This whole experience is more than just restarting a business, It's starting life over after a traumatic event, and finding my way in a changed world to a path once seen clearly. One advantage I have is I married the love of my life a high school friend unseen for thirty five years that knows me, the me I am trying to remember.

Yay! On all accounts!
